Nagaland’s vibrant Hornbill Festival has been honored with the prestigious Silver Banyan Award for Best Cultural Music & Dance at a national-level heritage awards ceremony held in Delhi.
During the award presentation, the Union Minister of Culture and Tourism handed over the accolade to Nagaland’s representative in New Delhi, who accepted it on behalf of the state.

The Heritage Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural tapestry. Among the categories recognized are traditional music and dance, historical and heritage tourism, pilgrimage tourism, traditional skills, and creative advertising—underscoring the diverse ways India’s cultural heritage is honored and elevated.
