The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) has unveiled a series of new initiatives to promote women entrepreneurship and youth employment across the state. Under the leadership of Uma Reddy, FKCCI’s first woman president, the organization is turning its focus toward empowering women-led enterprises through training, networking, and infrastructure support.
The initiative includes the launch of a digital portal designed to connect young talent with job opportunities, mentorship programs for women entrepreneurs, and a large-scale Women Entrepreneurs Conference to be held in Bengaluru on November 19.
Speaking at the announcement, Uma Reddy emphasized that sustainable economic growth in Karnataka must include active participation from women across industries. “When women succeed, communities thrive,” she said, outlining plans to provide easier access to markets, credit, and partnerships for small and medium women-owned businesses.
Karnataka already boasts over 7.4 lakh registered entrepreneurs, many operating in small-scale and manufacturing sectors. FKCCI’s new target aims to help the state reach the 10-lakh mark by supporting start-ups and home-grown ventures led by women.
Reddy also highlighted the need for better infrastructure — particularly improved road connectivity — to support business growth in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. FKCCI plans to collaborate with international trade bodies to open up export opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Karnataka.
The initiative has been widely praised by local business owners and advocacy groups as a practical step toward bridging gender gaps in the economy.
