In a ceremony held at the police commissioner’s office in Sector 108, the Noida Police today honoured 33 women and girls for their contributions to bravery, social service and women’s safety. Under the umbrella of the government’s flagship campaign Mission Shakti 5.0, the awards highlighted the expanding role of women as protectors, leaders and change-makers in local communities.

Commissioner Laxmi Singh said the awardees had gone beyond duty , supporting police efforts in crime prevention, taking a stand against social offences and creating safer spaces for fellow women. Additional CP (Law & Order) Rajeev Narayan Mishra described the winners as “face of courage in our society”, praising their resilience and commitment.

The evening was more than just an award show. It featured cultural performances by local students, a tribute to the legendary Rani Lakshmi Bai, and speeches that reinforced the value of collective action. Among the honoured were women active in neighbourhood watch groups, cybercrime awareness volunteers and grassroots social workers.

For many recipients, the recognition represents a turning point. One awardee, Pooja Awana, said she hopes the spotlight will encourage more women in her sector to step forward and feel confident about joining safety programmes. The success of this event reflects how Mission Shakti continues to evolve , from raising awareness to celebrating leadership among women.

When women are celebrated not just as beneficiaries but as active protectors and community leaders, the message is clear: empowerment isn’t just about permission, it’s about presence. In Noida today, the women honoured are proof that change begins when courage meets opportunity.
