Uttar Pradesh Conference Highlights Women’s Central Role in India’s Growth

A large gathering of women leaders, entrepreneurs, and self-help groups took place in Shahjahanpur today under the banner of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan.” The event focused on how women are shaping India’s economic and social progress.

Addressing the conference, BJP State General Secretary Dharampal Singh praised women as the “real architects of India’s self-reliant future.” He highlighted a series of initiatives, including Ujjwala Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Mission Shakti, saying these programmes have changed millions of lives by providing women with financial stability, education, and social security.

Delegates from several districts shared their experiences of how small businesses, supported under government schemes, helped them achieve independence. One participant spoke about how microloans allowed her to expand her tailoring business, while another described how digital literacy training helped her find online work.

Singh added that women are now active contributors in nearly every sector — from agriculture and entrepreneurship to education and technology. “When women progress, the nation prospers,” he said, emphasizing that empowerment should be measured not by numbers but by the confidence and leadership women bring to society.

The event closed with calls to further expand rural outreach and strengthen support systems so that women in every corner of India can stand on equal ground.
