The Madhya Pradesh government has announced an increase in monthly financial assistance for women under the Ladli Behna scheme, raising the amount from ₹1,250 to ₹1,500. The enhanced payments will be disbursed after Diwali, starting from Bhai Dooj.
The cabinet proposal for the increment is pending approval, but officials expect funds to be released in a single installment. The Chief Minister confirmed that beneficiaries will receive ₹1,500 per month, with plans to eventually raise the amount to ₹3,000 per month.
Currently, the scheme supports over 1.26 crore women, and the monthly budget is set to increase from ₹1,541 crore to over ₹1,800 crore. Since its launch, the Ladli Behna scheme has disbursed over ₹41,000 crore, providing crucial financial support to women across the state.
